Mrs. Sterling is an alumna of the Flint Hill Preparatory School and graduated with honors from Hollins College. She was chief correspondent for The Coastland Times, Manteo, N.C., prior to becoming Staff Assistant to United States Representative Charles Rose, III. Her forebearers go back six generations in Rappahannock and Albemarle Counties.
Mr. Sterling, a campaign coordinator with The Communications Company in Washington, D.C. was educated at Eaglebrook School, St. James School, Boston University and American University. He is the grandson of Mrs. Samuel Ferguson Beach, Georgetown, and of the late Mr. Beach, the attorney, and of the late Honorable Frederick Augustine Sterling, Ambassador to Ireland and Sweden, and of the late Mrs. Sterling of Washington, D.C. and Newport.
