Rappahannock’s volunteers were the guests of honor at a luncheon on Friday, November 16 at Washington Baptist Church. The luncheon was sponsored by the Rappahannock- Rapidan Community Services Center, and was held in honor of volunteers in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Community Services Volunteer Program (CSVP).
The RSVP group is made up of Volunteers who are 60 years old or older, and is the larger of the two groups in Rappahannock. These volunteers serve in stations, or non-profit organizations and licensed health care facilities, throughout the community.
Organizations in Rappahannock which benefit from the assistance of RSVP volunteers are the County Library, Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community, the elementary school, Rappahannock Family Guidance Center, Rappahannock World Hunger Project, the Department of Social Services, Rappahannock Historical Society, the Child Care and Learning Center, Rappahannock County Nutrition Site, the Health Department, and the VPI Cooperative Extension Service.
