who would give up their national birthright but literally millions who would change their citizenship if they were granted the privilege of becoming an American.
We have among us the poor, the homeless and the hungry yet we strive to attend to their needs and to those of their counterparts in many less fortunate nations. For we surely are a caring, generous and compassionate people.
We are Americans, a prosperous. freedom-loving blend of the world’s people. We have not forgotten our humble origin.
Rather, we cherish and hold dear our heritage, mindful of the sacrifices of our ancestors who endured great privations to bring our nation into existence.
These are but a few of the multitude of blessings we can give thanks for on this national holiday as we gather with family and friends in celebration of Thanksgiving Day 1984.
