Richard Lee Settle, Jr. served as ringbearer for his aunt.
Kip Nichols of Virginia Beach was best man and ushers were Richard Lee Settle and Harry A. Newlin, brother and brother-in-law of the bride and Richard Johnson of Newport News.
Mrs. Settle chose a fuchsia dress with grey accessories for her daughter’s wedding. She wore a corsage of cimbidium orchid.
The bridegroom’s mother wore a pearl grey dress with matching accessories and a white orchid.
A reception followed at the Flint Hill fire hall with entertainment by Larry LeHew and his band. Eddie Clark was interpreter at the reception.
The bride and groom took a short trip after the wedding followed by a cruise to the Bahamas over the Christmas holidays.
The couple are making their home in Newport News, where Mr. Vance is employed by N.A.S.A. at Langley Research Center and Mrs. Vance is employed by the Department of Army at Fort Eustis.
