terms had been made, Baumgardner replied that the council had discussed changing to four year terms at one time during the year he had been preparing the charter.
Diane Bruce asked about a clause in the charter that states that special meetings of the council can be called if there is reasonable notice given to the council members. She asked if there would be any need to include more specifics about what would constitute reasonable notice. Baumgardner said that he would check information on how specific the town charter would need to be on that subject.
A recommendation was made to change the beginning of the fiscal year proposed in the charter from June 30 to July 1, and Baumgardner said that he would make that change. The charter was then approved unanimously and will be sent to the General Assembly by January 9.
A boundary agreement between Rappahannock County and the town was approved by the council, and will _ be included with the charter bill. The survey of the boundaries was conducted by James G. Butler, Jr., and the boundaries serve as a political subdivision of the town and county. The boundary agreement will have to go before the circuit court to be signed, and will be posted in the newspaper. 1
The council renewed its discussion of town zoning and the council’s desire to have a town planning commission after a concern was raised about satellite dishes in the town. Council had decided to have a town planning commission to assist in passing the proposed historic district ordinance.
