Finally, other communities within the county are protesting the apparent possibility of a landfill near them. In particular, CCRC’s efforts have been criticized by both opponents and proponents of the Woodville site! Let’s face it, a landfill, no matter how sanitary, just does not fit in with our ideas of love of the land and peace of mind.
As a friend of mine told me today, “Democracy is painful.” But in this case it has resulted in a worthwhile goal that I think will prove to be a common one: Ship our garbage outside of the county to where it can be converted to useful energy.

I hope the “controversy” is no longer with us so we can turn our attention to more productive and pleasant aspects of life.
