Effective Preaching Seminar

Lord Fairfax Community College is sponsoring a Wellness Systems, Inc. Seminar, Effective Preaching on Monday, January 28. The seminar will be held at the Lee-Jackson Restaurant in Winchester from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The s< minar fee is $50 per person. A $15 per person discount will lie given wh< n three or more persons attend from the same church. Historical Society Meeting In February

The Rappahannock Historical Society will meet on Friday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Historical Building on Gay Street in Washington.

In last week’s Rappahannock News there was a report of a meeting which was to be held in January. However, there was no January meeting and the News regrets any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sperryville 4-H Club To Meet

The Sperryville Community 4-H Club will meet on Monday, January 21 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall. All area youth between the ages of 9 and 19 are invited to participate.

Cancer Society Meeting Planned

The Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society will meet Monday, January 14 at 1 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Washington. This will be a combined business and planning session. Anyone interested in helping to find a cure for cancer is urged to attend.

Snow Fantasy Pageant Scheduled

The second annual “Snow Fantasy” pageant will be held on Saturday, January 12 starting at 2 p.m. at the Handley High School Auditorium in Winchester. Admission will be $2 for adults and $1 for children. For more information on the pageant call directors, Roger and Lorraine Miller at 667-8123.

Woman’s Club To Meet

The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, January 22 at 8 p.m. at the home of Pat Giles in Washington. All members are urged to attend.

Horse And Pony Club Organizational Meeting

The 4-H Horse and Pony Club will meet January 21 at 7 p.m. at the Courthouse in Washington. This is an organizational meeting; you do not have to have a horse to attend. Anyone interesed jn horses is encouraged to come on out! Virginia Cooperative Extension programs, activities, and employment opportunities are available to all people regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, handicap, or political affiliation.

Supervision Course Offered

The Marketing Distributive Education Department of Culpeper County Schools is sponsoring a course in “Effective Supervision, Part II”. The course will be offered for four weeks at Culpeper County High School beginning on January 10. Also being offered is a 2 1/2 hour ‘Tax Workshop for Small Business Owners” seminar on January 17 at the Second National Bank in Culpeper.
