Carpenter
William Franklin (Willie) Foster, 60, of Luray, died Saturday, February 16 at his residence.
He was bom May 25, 1924, in Rappahannock County and was a son of the late Silas and Lena Woodard Foster. He was a carpenter and a veteran of World War II. On February 3, 1945, he married the former Kathleen Marie Sours, who survives.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Roger Lynn Foster of Front Royal and Ronald Franklin Foster of Mount Jackson; two daughters, Brenda Tharpe and Bonnie Bradley, both of imray and nine grandchildren. A son, Preston Lewis Foster, died on February 7, 1985.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Charles Foster of Luray and Warren Foster of Washington and five sisters, Mazie Clark of Washington, Colbert Nicholson of Spotsylvania, Virginia Nicholson and Emma Ballew, both of Maryland and Anna Belle Lewis of Front Royal.
Graveside services were conducted on Monday, February 18 at the Morning Star Cemetery by the Rev. Kirk Powers.
Bradley Funeral Home in Luray was in charge of the arrangements.
