“The three areas that I stressed all season were that the boys should learn to play team basketball, learn the fundamentals of the game and gain game experience," Vickers said. “I think that the team accomplished all three since every member got to play during the season.”

Magazine Wins

The 1984 edition of the Wakefield School literary magazine. Talisman, has been awarded a first place certificate of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (('SPA), a division of Columbia University in New York City. CSPA annually judges student publications from across the country.
In awarding the first place rating to Talisman, CSPA commented that, “You have a magazine rich in literary content and obviously filled with enthusiasm and talent.”
This marks the second year in a row that Talisman has received a first place certificate from CSPA. The 1984 edition was edited by Stephanie Zoebelein of Front Royal.
