entries include Trip Hoffman’s Honey’s Fuel, which will be ridden by Susan Sutula, and H. T. McKnight’s Cervo which finished third in the Casanova open timber race.
A l8/4-mile open hurdle race is fourth, following the ladies’ timber. Eleven entries have been made for this race including Albert F. Polk’s Nihoa which placed second at Casanova.
Juniors will compete on the turf in the fifth race. Among the eight entries in this race is Dawn Dugan’s Sharp Start. This young Catharpin rider has ridden consistently well over the past few seasons, winning several races, and appears to have a good future in the sport.
In the sixth race, a ls/i-mile open hurdle race, eight entries have been made. Charlie Fleischmann of The Plains, winner of the 1984 First Colony Series Championship, has entered his Lumbah Wallah. Among Lumbah Wallah’s competition will be Ahira’s Tale, who will be running in the colors of his new owner “Tennessee” Roy Graham.
