Glenn Updike and children, Lee John and Kelly Lynn, of Newsome were recent Saturday and overnight and Sunday guests of their parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Updike. They also visited other relatives in the area.

workshops
The Small Business Administration (SBA) will conduct four workshops for Virginians who received applications for disaster loans when they visited the Disaster Application Centers. The workshops are for both business and home applicants.
Two of the workshops will be on Monday, December 2, 1985. One will be in the gymnasium of R.E.S. Youth Center, Commerce and 8th Street, Front Royal, beginning at 7 p.m. The other will be in the drill hall of the Army Reserve Center on Durant Road in Covington, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Two more will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 1985 both starting at 6:30 p.m. One will be at the Augusta County School Board Building Number 4 (Old County Library Building), on Route 1 in Fisherville. The other will be in the Law Library at City Hall, 900 Church St., Lynchburg, Va.
All of the workshops will be conducted by an SBA representative who will explain the application and answer questions.
