in tne general Assembly, students voted on a variety of propositions ranging from drafting an anti-terrorist statement to choosing a cartoon character that would best serve as a symbol for international peace. In the council on Special Politics the representatives from the various countries discussed apartheid while the Political Security Council debated the difference between terrorists and freedom fighters.

The Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee discussed how to control over-population and the plight of migrant workers. In all the committees, the countries’ representatives wrote up “working papers” which posed a solution to a given problem. Then a vote was taken on whether or not the solution would become a resolution.
