PLEASE. Everyone in the Town of Washington Must Conserve Water. The water supply is very low and could possibly be depleted completely at any time. It is of grave importance that residents use water with caution.
Governor Harrison has declared Viginia’s woodlands in a state of “extraordinary fire hazard” and closed them effective noon Tuesday until further notice. Hunting and fishing will be barred as well as all fires and smoking within 300 yards of any woods.
Emphasis at the Historical Society’s ^Friday night meeting was definitely on Indian life in this area. After Mr. George Davis, filling in for the chairman of the Artifacts Committee, Mr. T.J. Pillar, spoke and demonstrated that Indian relics are everywhere beneath our feet, there will be a new rush and search for arrowheads, tomahawks, hammers, tools and utensils.
