Christmas tree farm bus tour

Christmas Tree Plantation Management Bus Tour will be held August 26. Stops include Skyline Evergreen Farm, Glen Manor Christmas Tree Farm, Fannon Baumgardner’s Christmas Tree Plantation, Shenandoah Countryside Tree Farm, and lunch at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center. Registration will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the Luray Caverns parking lot on Highway 211 outside of Luray. The bus(es) will depart promptly at 8:15 a.m. and will return about 5 p.m. Space is limited to a first-come, first-served basis. Advanced registration for the bus and lunch, or lunch only, is required. After August 8 call 703-675-3619 to determine if space is available. Fee for lunch and bus is $15, for lunch only $7. Check payable to Christmas Tree Bus Tour should be mailed to Rappahannock Extension Office, P.O. Box 119, Washington, VA 22747-0119.

Women’s Sunrise 5K race

The Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a women’s 5K race on August 23 at 7 a.m. Pre-registration is $5 before August 22 and $8 on the day of the race. Sign in time will be at 6:30 a.m. to receive race number. All participants of the race will receive a shirt. Entry forms may be requested by calling 349-1910 or stop by the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department at 62 Culpeper St., Warrenton VA, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday througah Friday.
