They wore tea-length dresses of peach taffeta and carried cascades of blue delphinium, pittica roses, enchantment lilies and peach godecia accented with baby’s breath and ivy.
Best man was Don Vickers, brother of the groom. Ushers were Roy Vickers and Chris Vickers, brothers of the groom, and Tony Shaffer, Jr., brother of the bride.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Shaffer wore a pink streetlength dress with pink accessories and a corsage of gardenias, stephanotis, ivy and baby’s breath.
The groom’s mother wore a cream-colored street-length dress with matching accessories and a corsage matching that of the bride’s mother’s.
Terrie Goode, Valerie Hibbs and Mary Clarke assisted with the reception at the Luray Inn and Conference Center.
When the couple left for $ western wedding trip, the bride wore a multi-colored summer-weight dress.
The couple is residing in Woodville.
The bride is a graduate of Luray High School and Radford University. She is employed by Rappahannock County Public Schools.
The groom, a graduate of Graham High School and Virginia Tech, also is employed by Rappahannock Public Schools.
Pre-nuptial entertainment included showers given by Mary Lou Leroy, Libby Shaffer, Connie Hurd and Ruby Dillon. A bridesmaids’ brunch was hosted by Tina Kallam, Jeanne Manuel, Patricia Kallam and Evangeline Kallam.
Out-of-town guests included the Rev. N. C. Teague of Winston-Salem, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hendrix of Nashville, Mr. and Mrs. Lennis Brinson of Virginia Beach, Mr. and Mrs. George Self of Greensboro, N. C., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith of Bristol, Tenn.
