Rae Haase, former proprietor of Nature’s Foods and Cafe in Washington, is baking Greek baklava for dessert. Patrick O’Connell, celebrated chef of the internationally acclaimed Inn at Little Washington, is preparing quiche. Randolph Clater is donating 10 pounds of top round cut from the Sperryville Corner Store’s choice beef for shish kabobs, the Rappahannock Small Farmers Market is contributing fresh cherry tomatoes to thread on the skewers and outdoor chefs have signed on to man the grills. The Extension office, the Cancer Society and the Rappahannock County Women’s Club are all rallying to help.
