The Foothills Travel Association of Virginia elected Shirle Ramsey, owner of Mayhurst Bed and Breakast in Orange, its president during the meeting August 5 at Meadowood Bed and Breakfast in Slate Mills.
Serving with her will be William Strider, acting executive director of Planning District 9, vice-president, and Lorraine Robson, owner of Meadowood B and B, secretarytreasurer.
The association formed a committee to produce a brochure detailing the area’s attractions. Nan Thomasson, who with her husband Jim owns Heritage House in Washington, suggested that the brochure be done as quickly as possible so that it could be distributed in time for the fall tourist season.
