Our well organized unit of the Cancer Society has been offering this extremely valuable service for some years. Now, for reasons of ill health, our loan-closet chairman is being forced to resign her position. Like her, the successor will automatically become a member of the board of the local unit.
This is truly a rare opportunity for anyone who wants to make a unique contribution to the community from her — or his — home. While calls for equipment loans are infrequent — usually a few or none in a month — the service is absolutely vital when it is needed. Few if any opportunities for civic service offer richer rewards for less effort.
