You can help The latest in a series of fatal accidents involving tractortrailer trucks in Rappahannock County brings the problem of trucks on the county’s narrow roads back into the foreground. The Board of Supervisors has formally requested that the Highway Department reconsider its ban on trucks on Rt. 17 in Fauquier County. The effort, futile though it may be, is commendable. Unfortunately, as Supervisor J. Newbill Miller observed, Fauquier County, because of its population, has the clout which Rappahannock County lacks. Clout, however, is relative. Perhaps if enough citizens make their concerns felt, our representatives in Richmond can again exert pressure on the officials at the Highway Department to reconsider their decision.
