Judge Snead serves as chairman of the deacons, he was superintendent of the Sunday School, and presently heads the pulpit committee which is looking for a replacement for Rev. Scoggin. “He was the head of the committee which brought me to the county,” Rev. Scoggin remembered.
The Sneads also serve as representatives in Virginia for the Southern Baptist Volunteers in Mission Program, a network across the state which secures volunteers and sends them to the Northeast to meet the needs of the tiny, newly-emerging Baptist congregations there.
