In addition to his work with the 4-H Clubs, Judge Snead was active for many years as a volunteer Boy Scout leader. Rev. Scoggin added that Judge Snead always looked for creative ways to help out kids who found themselves in his court.
“His sensitivity to people, but yet his sense of justice and objectivity was an interesting mix for a judge,” Rev. Scoggin added. “But, the biggest thing for me was that he sought to live by what he believes. It’s not just a passing membership in a group - he always tried to live his faith. As a pastor, that is a tremendous witness.”
Clerk of the Circuit Court Diane Bruce said of Judge Snead, “If there’s anything nice you can think of, say it about Judge Snead and it will fit.”
Judge Penn added, “I’m only surprised that he has not had this honor sooner. He’s been deserving of it all along.”
