Interprets & enforces laws/ regulations governing Environmental Health programs in Fauquier Health Dept; evaluates soil & land site for on-site sewage disposal systems, uses hand auger to evaluate soil character, determines topographic, geologic, hydrologic features, integrates collected data, applies regulations & or rejects site; inspects completed systems; evaluates placement/ construction/ quality of water supplies, investigates complaints, animal bites; other duties as assigned. Prefer BS Environmental Health, Geology or comparable knowledge, skills, abilities needed to perform above duties; knowledge of soil evaluation as it relates to on-site sewage disposal/ water systems; ability to effectively communicate, to interpret & apply complex environmental regulations.
