1 he 1* armers Home Administration, an agency of the U. S. Department, recently announced that it still has available a loan program for volunteer fire departments and rescue squads. The money may be used for construction of new facilities or the purchase of equipment or vehicles.
The funds for the low-interest loans are made available through the Community Facility Loan Program. Public facilities eligible for loan funding through the program include community buildings, court houses, public maintenance buildings, libraries, schools, roads and bridges.
Interest rates for the loans are now 6.875 percent and are expected to drop lower after the first of the yei>r. The maximum term on the loans is 40 years, however no repay ment period will exceed any statutory limitation on the organization’s borrowing authority nor the useful life of the improvement or facility.

During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid and Army history and traditions.
