A funeral service was conducted Dec. 23 at the Clore Funeral Homer Culpeper, by the Rev. Henry Utz. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Randy Maxwell, Bill Deane, Neil Deane, Roger Brown, Russell Brown and Paul Compton.
J. R. Latham Sr.
James Richard Latham Sr., 62, of Homer Hill Farm, Amissville, died Dec. 17 in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Mr. Latham was bom March 22, 1924, in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Armistead Clifford and Mary Anderson Latham. He was a deacon and member of the Flint Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Latham was a member of the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County for 15 years and was previously the board’s chairman for many years. He was a member of the Planning District 9 Commission and served on the Rappahannock County Welfare Board and on the Rappahannock County Electoral Board.
At the time of his death he was president of Rappahannock Home Mutual Insurance.
Surviving are his wife Mary Elizabeth Gilbert Latham, two sons, William Clifford Latham of Homer Hill Farm, Amissville, and James Richard Latham Jr. of Bentonville, a daughter Judith Latham Armentrout of Herndon, two sisters, Mary Miller Payne of Amissville and Ann Carder of Culpeper, and four grandchildren.
