I approached Thursday’s public hearing with a “them against us” attitude, but the thought occurs to me, that everyone who lives in Rappahannock County is “us,” and “them” live elsewhere! What we must do is to make sure that all of “us” are working together to find solutions to these problems.
The needs are these: (1) We need a dog pound. (2) We need improvements at the Courthouse. (3) We need a sanitary landfill. (4) We ned all of the improvements on the proposed High School Expansion Plan. All of these needs exist because we’ve ignored them in the past. It is evident at this point that ignoring our needs does not make them go away; it only makes them more difficult to deal with in the future. The time has come for Rappahannock County to meet its financial responsibilities. u
