The fourth annual Blue Ridge Open Sheep Dog Trial will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, at Sunnybrook Farm, near White Post. Last year over eighty dogs from across the country competed at the trial and there were over three thousand spectators during the two days. Two handlers flew in from California, as did three spectators, and handlers came from Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Alabama, Mississippi and Maryland as well as many from Virginia.
Because of the number of dogs last year the trial this year will be limited to Open and Open Ranch classes only. .
