The SPTA will have a booth at the Sperryville Fair to help promote public awareness of the organization. “One need not have a child in the elementary school to be a member of the SPTA; but rather, anyone with an interest in education is invited to join us.”
Elections were held for the ’87-88 school year. Cindy Andreoni, Judy Tole and Edie Clark were re-elected to the positions of president, vicepresident and treasurer. Deborah Flinchum will be secretary, replacing April Heddleston who declined to run again after putting in two years of service in this capacity.
The RCES fun fair plans were also discussed. This first attempt at a large scale fun fair at the school is being planned for Saturday, May 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will include cake-walks, raffles, a fortune-teller, pizza, hot dogs and other snacks as well as numerous games for all ages.
Anyone who can help either with managing a booth or baking goodies please call Linda Mallory at 937-5039 or Mary Jane Swift at 636-6363.
