We’ve passed through the time of pretty, but insubstantial blossoms - the New Age ideas which haven’t gotten off the ground. And now the fruit is set and beginning to ripen.
Long ago Chinese wise men understood that when evil men were at the center of things in the government, the nation would stagnate and evil-doers would flourish everywhere. Spanking school children will not cure this, nor will forcing “traditional values” down their throats!
Life is a range of moral options. Ambiguity about right and wrong exists. Jesus redefined the meaning of such immoral acts as murder and adultery, a fact which hasn’t sunk into the brains of his Christian preachers.
How much easier it is to proclaim the black and white written version of the commandments etched in stone rather than the purified heart! The cleansed mind which seeks its own relative, situational values using internal spiritual guidance, which acts out of faith. Any morality not based upon a living connection with the Godhead within is the “way which seems good to man but which leads to destruction.” Morality education is not the job of the schools, it is the job of the spirit!
The Trinity Age, with its feminist vanguard, is coming on apace. Its family virtues can hardly be instilled (that is, taught by example) in institutions. God is our Parent and everyone is a sibling in this cosmic, divine family. Children who spend more time at home (and don’t do homework) will learn how to live with their siblings better than if they spent the majority of their young, waking lives in classes.
The Bible says to raise up a child in the way he should go and he will not depart from it when he is old. Children who are raised up in schools, end up in jail, corporations, and/or old-age hospices. Turning back to the past for answers is building sand dams against the tide of goodness rising in our midst. A noncompulsory, smorgasbord style education in the lower levels as well as in college would be a step in the right direction.
Character will and does grow in the home environment. The home hasn’t failed, nor has the family, and when schools set their captives free they will all come into their own again. PETER B. HOLLEY, Minister Heavenly Earth Revival (HER)
