Last night, the Amissville Fire Department kicked off the carnival season with its annual event. It runs through Saturday at the carnival grounds, next door to the fire hall on Rt. 211.
□ Commencement exercises will be held this weekend. Rappahannock County High School's senior class will receive its diplomas in a ceremony at the school beginning at 9:30 Saturday morning. Wakefield's seniors will graduate in the school's garden at 6 p.m. Sunday.
