A lookout by the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department for a suspected drunken driver ended Thursday night with the arrest of the driver after a State _ Police cruiser smashed through a rail fence while pursuing the vehicle.
According to Sergeant M. D. Dowdy of the State Police office in Warrenton, Trooper S. H. McCampbell was eastbound on Rt. 211 near the high school when he spotted a car westbound on Rt. 211 which matched the description of the car broadcast by the Sheriffs Department.
Trooper McCampbell turned his cruiser around and took off after the car, which turned right on Rt. 622 into Gid Brown Hollow. As the trooper turned off Rt. 211 onto Rt. 622, Sgt. Dowdy said, he turned on his blue lights
