The Extension Homemakers Daytime Club will meet Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 9:30 a.m. at the Clerk’s Office in Washington. Members and interested persons are urged to attend.
Washington Business Council to meet
The Washington Business Council will meet Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6:15 p.m. at The Village Cafe in town. In addition to a sneak preview of The Cafe, fall and winter town activities and celebrations will be discussed. All members are urged to attend.
‘Salvador’
Salvador will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 29 and 30, at 7:30 each evening. James Woods brilliantly portrays the outspoken American photojoumalist Richard Boyle in Salvador, a film that hurls us headlong into the nightmarish events of the 1980 civil war in El Salvador. The real-life Boyle collaborated with director Oliver Stone (Oscar-winning director of Platoon) to create a movie which combines nominal acting and truly great camera work. Salvador is thrilling, terrifying, funny, suspenseful and in the end impossible to forget. The movie is unrated. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Review of feeding project
The 1986-87 Custom Feeding Demonstration Project has been completed. Final closeouts, project review and open discussion of the project will be held at Waynesboro Red Carpet Inn Thursday, Sept. 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. Discussion of plans for the 1987-88 Custom Feeding Demonstration Project will close out the day’s agenda. ' EMT class starts Sept. 10
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Emergency Medical Services Council has announced that a class for Emergency Medical Technicians will begin Sept. 10. The 120-hour course, which leads to state certification, will meet every Monday and Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Culpeper Rescue Squad Building on Rt. 229 N. For information or to register, call the RREMS office, 825-6849, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Beahm/Bolen reunion planned
Descendants, friends and relatives are invited to the fourth annual George Washington and Nancy Bolen Beahm family reunion Sunday, Sept. 6, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 near Washington.

Wharton family reunion
The annual family reunion of the late Henry Taylor Wharton and Lillie M. Cloude Wharton will be held Aug. 29 at the Rappahannock Park, Washington. All family and friends are invited to come, bring a picnic basket and enjoy themselves. “Come one, come all,” said a family spokesperson.
