David Wills to perforin in Front Royal
Front Royal and Warren County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 33, will present an evening of country music on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. at the Warren County High School. Draft horse and mule day
The Gentle Giants come to Oatlands Plantation, near Leesburg, on Saturday, Sept. 5, for the second annual Draft Horse and Mule Day. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 70 work horses, including Clydesdales, Belgians, and Suffolks, are expected to compete in obstacle races, log pulling, plowing, and big horse pulls. In addition there will be a coon mule jumping competition, wagon and mule rides, a crafts show with 30 artisans selling handmade, one-of-a-kind items, a blacksmithing demonstration, bluegrass and country music and refreshments. Tours of Oatlands house and gardens are included in the $5 per person admission. Children 12 and under are free. Oatlands is located on Route 15, five miles south of Leesburg. Red Cross annual meeting
The Fauquier Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 4 p.m. in the upper level of the John Barton Payne Building on Court House Square, Warrenton. All are invited. Refreshments will follow the meeting.
