State police reported that Uniform Crime Reports reflect an increase of less than one percent in the seven Index Crimes for the first half of 1987, compared to those reported for the first six months of 1986. Reports for 1987 are preliminary, the spokesman said.
Decreases were reported in rape, down 3.4 percent; robbery, down 6.4 percent; aggravated assault, with a reduction of 5.9 percent; and burglary, down 2 percent.
