On Saturday, July 18, I confronted my fear of flying and made my dream of visiting the West Coast and seeing the Big Sky of Montana come true.

A close friend, Ms. Tami Willett, asked me to go home with her. Without thinking I said, “Let’s do it” and there was no turning back.

I had to fly to California where we met Tami’s high school friend Pat. Pat’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moreno, welcomed us with dinner, a swim in their pool, and a relaxing hour in the jacuzzi. Although I was thousands of miles from home, the Morenos made me feel as if I were part of their family.

Sunday morning I became a child again and was thrilled by the fantasy world of Disneyland. Mickey and Minnie Mouse greeted us at 9 a.m. and Snow White’s parade ended our day. In between came Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Storybook Land, and Fantasy land where children of all nationalities singing “It’s a Small World” brought tears to my eyes.
