The Potomac Edison Company has asked the State Corporation Commission for permission to lower its base rates by 4.34 percent or $2.6 million for its Virginia retail customers.
The effective date of the proposed rate reduction will be Sept. 1, pending approval by the Commission. The company serves approximately 60,000 customers in 14 northwestern Virginia counties.
