we found that they had a 14-ineh ditch where no ditch had ever been and had never been needed. They told us they would have to cut off the end of the driveway and put in a 12inch pipe to “carry away the water.”
I protested, to no avail. The matter was settled as far as they were concerned. We had to leave and be away for the rest of the day.
Thursday morning I called the office in Warrenton after learning that Mr. Bywaters was away and invited hime to come and see our ditch. He sent Mike Moon, the assistant resident engineer.
We had rain during the night and there was water standing in their ditch, the first time we have ever had water standing in the road in front of our property.
