Winners of Good Citizens awards, presented annually to outstanding high school graduates, were Collin Andrew Heffem of Culpeper High; William Mark Otten of Madison High; Anthony Fudd of Rappahannock High, and Pamela Ann Miller of Wakefield School.
In April Mrs. William J. Nenner presented a program entitled “Banners and Flags.”
In May the meeting was held at Graves Mountain Lodge which was also attended by area chapters Fauquier Courthouse, Golden Horseshoe, Montpelier, and Shenandoah River. Mrs. Knuepfer and Mrs. Puryear presented “A Portrait of a Daughter,” an official NSDAR film relating to its history. The DAR was founded in 1890 in Washington, D.C., by then First Lady Caroline Scott Harrison. Membership now totals well over 200,000 and the society has a library of more than 45,000 books dealing with the descent of persons from Early American ancestors.

Mrs. Longley is publicity chairwoman of the Culpeper Minutemen Chapter, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
