The heart of the matter, as always, is whose ox is to be gored when it comes to reducing or just holding the line on services citizens want from their government that must be paid for with their own tax dollars.
While it’s easy to find politicians who pledge themselves to no new taxes, it’s considerably more difficult to find those who will say to voters, “Read my lips, no new services.”
