“I would get up in the morning and begin to make my bed but then realize, I didn’t have to,” Amy said of life in the Chilean household which employed two full-time maids and one daytime maid.
But life with hired help isn’t always so easy. “I was always hunting for my clothes because the maids would put them in the wrong rooms,” Amy laughed, miliarity found in the rural atmosphere of Rappahannock.
Heather’s experience was somewhat different from Amy’s, as she found friends and friendships easy to establish in “the land of the windmills.”
Heather found the comparison between academic programs somewhat “equal.”
In school and in the streets, both American students abroad noticed teens with an avid interest in politics.
Glad to be back home and recomnending exchanges for other teens, )oth girls would like to return to heir host countries.
“Give me a ticket and I’m back here,” Heather said with a laugh.
“I want to go back in the sumner, for the festivals,” Amy said, ongingly.
