Rappahannock News photo/Lou Hatter THE AMISSVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT recently purchased this 1978 Hahn fire engine to improve its fire protection for Amissville area residents. The truck has a 1,500 gallon per minute pump and a 750 gallon tank, as well as safety features for its crew including jump seats, where firefighters can ride in the protection of the cab while still having easy access to their breathing apparatus and other gear. The new “Engine 3“ replaces a 1970 pumper, and will be the department’s primary firefightig piece for structure fires.
