This week the After-School Class at Child Care and Learning Center has participated in a 4-H workshop for children who are in self-care or who may be home alone and have to care for themselves. One day we studied simple meals that can be prepared in the microwave which I want to share in my column this week.
Mom used to be home to serve lunch or after-school snacks, but today Mom often isn’t home. More than half of mothers work. Some things don’t change though — kids still come home hungry!
