Memorial services were held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday, Aug. 28 with Pastor Alfred Fogleman officiating. Interment was at the National Cemetery in Culpeper.

Memorials may be given to the Lutheran World Mission.

Charlie B. Jones

Charlie Baxley Jones, 86, of Front Royal, died Friday, Aug. 24 at his home.

The funeral was conducted Monday, Aug. 27 at the Limeton United Methodist Church by the Rev. Trueman Tremble. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was bom Aug. 25, 1903 in Rappahannock County, son of the late Robert A. Jones and Mary Thornton Jones. He was a member of the Limeton United Methodist Church and was a farmer and deputy sheriff in Warren County for 15 years.

Surviving are his wife, Kathelle Murphy Jones; two sons, Douglas Jones of Arlington and Stanley D. Jones of Gatesville, Texas; one daughter, Connie Wakefield of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Daisy Lake of Asbury, Geneva Bailey of Limeton and Neville McLeod; and five grandchildren.

Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Esther Apperson Johnson, 93, of Culpeper died Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Autumn Care of Madison Nursing Home.
