Frost warning: Although the first killing frost is not expected in our area until on or about October 11th, it’s best to keep an eye out during the latter part of the month for such a possibility in your particular area especially if you’ve experienced problems in the past. Protect late bearing crops to carry them over. Keep the garden cleaned up, composting any garden refuse.
Safe driving: With the young ones back in school, be especially careful driving in school zones or near playgrounds. In rural areas, obey the road restrictions where school buses are concerned, and, when in doubt, always give a bus the right of way.
