Council members considered requirements for screening. Janet Moffett reported that the Architectural Review Board had adopted language defining screening that included a minimum 5-foot fence to screen parking lots.
Mr. Reynolds asked if the purpose was to keep people from seeing cars. He said that might present a “safety issue.” Members reported that when the ARB had required screening of parking lots it had been from surrounding residential areas, not from the street.
Council members approved adding the ARB language requiring screening to the zoning ordinance for new outside heating and airconditioning systems, fuel oil tanks and satelite dishes and for separating parking lots from residential areas.
They also agreed to list those streets that would require a 45-foot setback in front of a
