Warren Green Concerts in Warrenton head into high gear this week with the announcement of the full Summer 1993 schedule.
The lineup for the Saturday evening shows starts on June 19 with Northern Lights, "the' reining kings of the northeastern bluegrass scene," who skillfully blend the traditional with the unusual.
The series ends August 21 with the Johnson Mountain Boys, one of the country’s premier bluegrass bands.
The season runs for 10 consecutive weeks, offering concert-goers a wide variety of world-class family entertainment sponsored by the Bluemont Concert Series.
All the concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. on the lawn of the old Warren Green in downtown Warrenton.
The requested admission is $3 per person. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on, and a picnic to enjoy before the show. In case of rain, the concerts are held at Warrenton Junior High School.
The following are the scheduled concerts:
• Saturday, June 19: Northern Lights, a bluegrass quartet.
• Saturday, June 2B: Black Sheep, award-winning reggae band from Washington, D.C.
• Saturday, July 3: HOTS Ragtime Orchestra, toe-tapping dance music from the turn-of-the-eentury.
