Individual in conduct tests on bituminous concrete used in highway construction and maintenance and ensure compliance with VDOT specificiations. Performs marshall stability tests on bituminous concrete and tests samples using nuclear asphalt content and reflux equipment, hot plates, sieves and scales. Records and issues test reports and maintains lab facilities and equipment. Must have a knowledge of highway material specifications and usage and AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) and VTM (Virginia Test Method) test procedures; be skilled in using bituminous concrete testing equipment; and be able to perform mathematical computations and train other technicians. May be required to work in the vicinity of devices emanating low level ionizing radiation. Salary: $19,668 - $30,030.

OFFICE SERVICES SPECIALIST #05212 • Warrenton. Individual to provide secretarial and administrative support for the Warrenton Residency. Types correspondence, contracts, bid proposals and reports. Reviews and processes monthly contract estimate forms, supply purchases and utility and materials invoices. Performs data processing, answers telephones and maintains filing systems. Must know office procedures and equipment; be skilled in keyboarding and operating a variety of automated office equipment; and be able to operate computers and communicate effectively. Salary: $15,055 - $22,987.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER #09573 - Culpeper. Individual to manage traffic engineering investigations and monitor highway projects from field inspection to construction. Supervises field crews as necessary, reviews site plans and make recommendations and assumes the duties of the District Traffic Engineer, as needed. Must have knowledge of traffic engineering practices; be able to analyze data and draw logical conclusions, communicate effectively and supervise the work of others. Degree in civil engineering or closely related field and engineering experience. Salary: $28,089 - $42,888.
