Friends had exceeded the goal of $2,000 to buy classics missing from the collection. She added, however, that the lists of classics needed to complete the collection or replace “dog eared” copies would cost over $5,000.
Mrs. McCarthy said the Friends were sponsoring an “adopt a book” campaign. She said they wrere working on a form patrons could use to donate a specific book to the library.
