... Mr. George Ellis who was injured in a silo accident on the Bill Alphin farm where he is employed spent quite a while in Culpeper Memorial Hospital and returned to his home on Saturday and seems to be improving. Our prayers go out for his speedy recovery.
Belated birthday wishes go out to Mrs. Joe Peregory who celebrated her bithday on Friday and her little son, Joseph who celebrated his on Sunday.
Sunday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Butler were Mrs. George Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Scott Keithley of New Baltimore, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibbs and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Sims and family.
The kick-off for the Salem Volunteer Fire Department annual fund raising drive will be held w'ith an open house from 1-5 p.m. this Satuday, Oct. 2 at the fire house, just down the road on 522. Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks are on the menu with bands, Smokey Bear and doggers round out the event.
Mrs. Mark Halterman was in Stephens City last Sunday.
. Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville was a Sunday afternoon guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and family. Mrs. Atkins along with Mrs. John Dodson had spent Thursday through Saturday attending the Ladies Retreat at Rapidan Baptist Camp in Rochelle. Mrs. Florine Estes of Sperryville and Mrs. Elmer Atkins of Flint Hill also attended the Ladies Retreat.
