Crossroads 1993: Soil and Soul, a 3 day festival celebrating farms and farmers, the arts and the land with events for the entire family, will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8, 9 and 10 at several regional locations.
Friday evening at 8 p. m., the festival begins with a spirited country dance featuring the Light Dubose Band and figure caller Carlotta Wellington. '|'he evening will include oldtime Southern and New England country dances in squares, lines and circles, along with an old fashioned pie auction baked with local goodies.
Saturday, Oct. 9-Farm Featival Tours and Farm Workshops offer attendees a chance to see “behind the barn” into Virginia’s rural working and family life, and to experience for themselves several useful way to work with nature. Morning tours include Horseshoe Hollow Farm, Thistle Hill Truckpatch, and Jordan River Farm. Early workshops offered are Treekeeping, Shiitake Mushrooms, Beekeeping and Egg Tempera. Afternoon tours at Mountain Green, Oak Shade and Jordan River Farm will be offered. There
