Edith Johnson

Mrs. Edith C. Johnson, 73, of Hartwood, died Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 4, 1919 in Rappahannock County and was the daughter of the late Siias M. and Lucy Dwyer Cornell of Sperryville.

She was the widow of George N. Johnson.

Survivors include a son, George Lee Johnson of Hartwood and a brother, Lee Cornell of Culpeper.

Funeral services were held at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel on Friday, Sept. 24.

Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Jackie Gilbert

Jackie G. Gilbert, 64, of Marshall, died Thursday, Sept. 23.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Marshall Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy Daniels.

Burial was in Leeds Cemetery’ at Hume.

Mr. Gilbert was the son of the late Otto W. and Lula Root Gilbert.

He reitred after 38 years from the Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company and was a veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of the Marshall
